"More whining about the station? What is this, 1955? Don't you have a TV? The Internet? Other radio stations to tune into? "
I don't know about the rest of you, but I just *LOVE* the folks who frequent radio message boards who give someone grief for caring about / commenting on local radio.
Paul, maybe there's a message board out there dedicated to all of these online options you're so fond of that you could go troll. I mean, in addition to this board. I'd miss your insightful posts.
Anyway, I agree with DJ Bob that it's sad you can't really count on radio for breaking news like you used to. And it's clearly not just a Racine problem.
When I hear the NAB talking about how we *NEED* FM chips in smartphones because radio is such an information lifeline in emergencies, I think about how non-existent breaking news coverage has become these days on radio and what a crock of shit the NAB is peddling.
Yes, there are still a few stations out there that still get it and provide valuable info in an emergency, but it it's now the exception, not the rule. And that's sad, even for those of us who have TV and the Internet, Paul.
