All Access says:

The move followed SCRIPPS Adult Hits WLWK (94.5 THE LAKE)/MILWAUKEE flipping to Country as WKTI (94.5 KTI COUNTRY) earlier in the day (NET NEWS 5/29).

Now, MILWAUKEE media reporter DUANE DUDEK reports SCRIPPS has contacted MAGNUM, "to assert its copyright related to the nickname." He notes, "WMKQ also adopted THE LAKE logo and the slogan 'It’s All About the Variety,' both of which are registered copyrights of SCRIPPS."

SCRIPPS VP/Radio STEVE WEXLER gave the report no comment about the potential legal dustup.

DUDEK notes WLWK continues to program THE LAKE’s old Adult Hits format on its HD3 feed.
