Not really a flip so much as a tweak. Kill every syndicated show on Z. I'm talking weekdays, weekends, even the countdown shows and everything Premium Choice. Go 100% live and local. Straight 4 hour shifts across the board M-F. Live even overnights. This is a college town and there's a demo who has Z on for all nighters and there's a solid third shifter demo anxious to have a real person to interact with. For weekends, pull in talent from the surrounding larger markets like Milwaukee and Chicago. Cover their travel and pay them the normal hourly rate for part-timers. Connie & Curtis are back in Madison or they're in Milwaukee. They can choose. I want a morning show who can meet stalkers outside of the studio right after the show. Hyper-local and 93.1 doesn't have a chance (though it could be argued it doesn't have a chance now).
: Madison radio hasn't had a format flip in a long time, do you think now is a good time? what station(s) should flip if there where to be one?
