God, NPR is not liberal talk to me either! I'm in my late 20s and while I respect what NPR is doing it puts me to sleep. Progressive Talk is more active IMO.

Well said about many liberals not needing a talk show host to think for us. I like that statement. Conservatives are always saying the mainstream media this, the mainstream media that. But a higher % of talk radio stations in the US are conservative. It's just a fact.

: And it kind of confirms the stereotype, but a lot of my fellow liberals, if they listen to 'talk' on the radio, it's NPR.

: I don't think of NPR as a 'liberal' outfit, though -- I just like hard news; it's the same reason I like tuning into WBBM-AM 780. I like to stay informed, and NPR has the best news operation on radio. I think that goes to my point that a lot of us so-called liberals don't need a talk show host to tell us what to think; we can listen to the news and figure that out for ourselves.
