WBUW channel 57 (or Madison's CW) is in the process of being sold; the deal was announced on Tuesday 12/13.
The seller: ACME Communications, who has been exiting from the TV business, bit by bit, for the past year or so (they sold their Green Bay station last spring).
The buyer: A company called Byrne Acquisition Group, which is co-owned by a founder of Argyle Television (which became part of Hearst Television) and whose only other TV property is a low-power station in South Carolina that mainly airs local lifestyle shows and infomercials. Needless to say, this is quite a step-up for that company.
