I don't honestly know how you could criticize any person legitimately trying to counsel a young person prior to embarking upon a career in radio to consider other paths. To say radio is a dying medium is unfair; the predictions of its downfall are greatly exaggerated. But it's a medium that pays horribly, with often brutal hours, little loyalty from management, and no job security. Why would anyone want that, when CNC machine shops pay $50K p/year with benefits to load blanks and push a button? My only regret is that our young friend didn't coming here prior to letting Madison Media Institute rob him blind and promise him the world.
If that's harsh, hey, the world is harsh. The sooner he figures that out, the sooner he can empower himself to deal with it.
